South Ayrshire Celebrates Carers

The South Ayrshire Health & Social Care Partnership (HSCP) will be out next week celebrating the wonderful carers of South Ayrshire. In partnership with the South Ayrshire Carers Centre and Community Wellbeing Hub a number of events and activities have been scheduled to celebrate Carer's Week 2022.
The theme for Carers Week 2022 is 'Make caring visible, valued and supported'. Unpaid carers and the challenges of caring should be recognised in all areas of life. Caring should be valued and respected by everyone in our society, and carers should have access to the information and support they need, where and when they need it.
Tim Eltringham said, "We are delighted to be able to be back out in the community following the easing of restrictions due to COVID-19. These events are so important for the Partnership to be able to help identify unpaid carers and ensure they have access to the information and support they may need."
The Health and Social Care Partnership and the South Ayrshire Carers Centre offer a wide range of support, including emotional support, short breaks and general advice. Information can be found on our website at: hscp.south-ayrshire.gov.uk/carers
As a thank you to carers in our community the South Ayrshire HSCP is also offering a free 90-minute holistic therapy taster session to both adults and young carers during Carers Week. Taster sessions include mindfulness, meditation and yoga and will be held via Zoom at 6pm on Monday 6 June (Adults) and Tuesday 7 June (Young Carers).
