Elementary Food Hygiene (REHIS)
Course Description
The REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene Course is a practical course designed to give individuals a basic knowledge and understanding of the causes of food poisoning, measures for prevention and the legal aspects of food hygiene in Scotland.
Learning Outcomes
Participants will gain a good knowledge and understanding of the following areas and must successfully complete the exam which concludes the course:
- General Introduction to Food Hygiene
- Food Pests
- Bacteria
- Food Premises, Equipment and Utensils
- Food Poisoning and Its Prevention
- Cleaning and Disinfection
- Personal Hygiene
- Food Hygiene Law
Who should attend?
All staff within the Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) who need their REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate.
Course Length
This is a 1-day face to face session.
Please Note: that this needs to be renewed every 3 - 5 years.
