Crossing the Acts

Description

This course enables staff to explore the crossover between Adult Support & Protection (Scotland) Act 2007, Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000 and Mental Health (Care & Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003. Participants will refresh their knowledge on the associated legislation and consider specific elements of each and how they "cross" - or work together. This course will provide the opportunity to compare participants own findings on case scenarios with those from Mental Welfare Commission reports.

Learning Outcomes

• Discuss the key legislation frameworks of the 2000, 2003 and 2007 Acts
• Examine specific elements of each legislation and how they "cross" or work together
• Refresh knowledge on associated legislation
• Discuss case scenarios as opportunity to reflect on practice

Who should attend?

This course is aimed at social work professionals and health colleagues. Please note this course is not suitable for Mental Health Officers.
