Monitoring Attendance (COAST)
For: Social Work Staff Programme Details, Aims and Objectives: The course takes a blended learning approach. You must first complete the Maximising Attendance module on COAST.This is an interactive, e-learning module which covers the key elements of the Framework for Maximising Attendance and your role driving this including: - Factors affecting employee attendance
- Support services offered by the council
- The process for managing short-term absence, long term absence, absence related to capability, absence related to conduct
- Managing disability related absence
- Managing absence related to mental health and stress
- On-line assessment
Aimed at: | Staff with a responsibility for managing employee attendance. | Outcome | On completing this course you will be able to: | | - Explain your role as a manager in implanting the Framework For Maximising Attendance

| | - Maximise attendance through awareness and use of services offered by the Council to support employees
| | - Manage disability related absence, including mental health conditions
| | - Manage stress related absence
| | - Adopt a flexible approach to managing attendance using a range of Council polices such as Special Leave
| | - Manage short term and persistent absence using trigger points as appropriate
| | - Mange long term absence using trigger point as appropriate
| | - Conduct effective Return to Work and Absence Review Meeting
