South Ayrshire Community Mental Health Service / South Ayrshire Treatment and Recovery Team
There are a range of different supports available for both mental health, wellbeing and for mental illness. Additionally, if you are worried about your own or someone else's alcohol or drug use, there are local services available to help you find the right support when you need it.
In South Ayrshire, we have created a tiered system which means getting the right help at the right time. Think of it like steps or layers of support.
The first step is everyday help, like self-management.
The next step is more support, like talking to a Self-Help Worker or joining a group.
Higher steps are for more specialised care, like seeing a mental health professional or getting treatment in a hospital.
You don't always start at the top, you start where your needs are, and move up or down as things change.
Tier 1
This is self-help/self-management services that support people's mental health and wellbeing. At this stage you may have low mood, anxiety and need support from community groups, digital supports, helplines, and peer support.
This is also services that support people, families and communities to help reduce the impact of alcohol and drugs on the population of South Ayrshire.

This is when you need health care support that can't be offered at Tier 1.
