Have your say on Care at Home services in South Ayrshire

South Ayrshire Health & Social Care Partnership are piloting our new feedback service for our internal Care at Home services. From today service users, families and carers will have the opportunity to share their experience using an online user feedback platform called Care Opinion.

Care Opinion is working closely with us to help establish this new way of actively listening to each individual we support in the community and their relatives. This new platform gives you a way of sharing what you think of the service you or a loved one has received. This could be to say what was good about care and treatment or to make suggestions about how services could be improved. You can also see how we respond to any issues, concerns and compliments and what changes are made as a result.

Julie Dettbarn, Chair of the Integration Joint Board said, "This is a fantastic opportunity to engage directly with our communities. We recently launched our new Strategic Plan which focuses on building services with the people of South Ayrshire, this is a great example of how we can achieve this."

Care Opinion will share your story, but not your name with us, one of our dedicated Care at Home members of staff will respond to your feedback in an open and transparent manner. Responses will be person-centered and engage with the experience; giving assurance your story has been heard. Both the stories and responses nearly always appear online for others to read.

Billy McClean, Head of Community Health and Care Services added, "Feedback given through Care Opinion will be monitored and responded to by the Partnership directly. This means that our staff are directly involved in the full process, this will provide a great learning opportunity for the team and help us to improve services."

The aim over the coming years is to roll out Care Opinion to all services run by the South Ayrshire Health & Social Care Partnership over time.
