South Ayrshire HSCP appoint new Clinical Director

South Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) are delighted to announce the appoint of Phil Hulme to the role of Clinical Director for South Ayrshire.  The Clinical Director is a valued member of the HSCP management team, professional advisor and non-voting member of the Integration Joint Board (IJB). 

Phil has strong links with South Ayrshire having been a General Practitioner (GP) in South Ayrshire for around 20 years. He completed his GP training here in Ayrshire following his graduation from University of Aberdeen in 1996.

Phil brings his extensive experience of work in patient safety and GP training to this role. Most recently being appointed as the Quality Lead for the Carrick Cluster.

Within this role Phil will be an advocate for primary care practitioners ensuring their views and voices are heard to inform the planning and development of services aimed at improving health and tackling inequalities.  

Phil said, "I am excited to take up this role and see it as one in which I can use this experience to provide a general practice perspective to the partnership as we strive to achieve our goals for the health and wellbeing of the people of Ayrshire."

Phil will work alongside a range of professional leaders within primary and urgent care and across the wider medical leadership team to ensure an integrated approach to the delivery of all primary and urgent care services. This includes providing clinical advice and guidance to the management team and IJB around national policy, legislation and structural reform, including the National Care Service.
