Child Protection Core Group.

The Child Protection Planning Meeting will identify who will be part of the Child Protection Core Group.   It is likely that these will be people who are already known to the child and family.  Parents will be invited to attend these and dependent on the child's age they will be invited too.   The Child Protection Core Group will be chaired by the social work Team Leader and review the actions that were agreed at the Child Protection Planning Meeting.   The Core Group will also agree the child's plan and ensure that everyone knows how they are supporting you.

  • The First Core Group should meet within 15 days of the first Child Protection Planning Meeting.  

  • The core groups will be held every 4 weeks thereafter, the Team Leader will set the dates for these.

  • Where the Core Group identifies the need to make significant changes to the child protection plan, they should notify the Child Protection Planning Meeting chairperson within 3 calendar days
