South Ayrshire Children and Young People's Services Plan 2023-2026-pages-1

South Ayrshire are delighted to launch our ambitious Children and Young People's Services Plan for 2023-2026.

This integrated plan was developed in collaboration with children, young people and community planning partners across sectors including South Ayrshire Council, South Ayrshire Health & Social Care Partnership, NHS Ayrshire & Arran and the Third Sector.

The plan sets out our shared vision, priorities and aims for the wellbeing of children, young people and families in South Ayrshire over the next three years. Central to this are our six interconnected priorities: The Promise, Families, Included, Voice, Healthy and People. Each priority underlines our commitment to delivering integrated, effective, and caring services in our communities.

Mike Newall, Chief Executive, South Ayrshire Council said, "I am certain this plan's aims and our caring, compassionate cross-sector workforce in South Ayrshire can continue to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people locally."

"It is with our children, young people and families potential at heart we embrace the challenges and great opportunities that lie ahead of us."

Building on the success of previous service plans there is a continued focus on prevention and early intervention, engagement with communities and further development of a holistic Family First approach which supports practitioners across services to work closer together within the 8 Secondary School Cluster areas.

Councillor Lee Lyons, Vice Chair of the South Ayrshire Integration Joint Board and Health and Social Care Portfolio Holder said: "It is so important that we listen and respond to the views of those who have experienced our services as they have a unique perspective on how we might change or adapt services to meet the needs of others in South Ayrshire. This plan focuses on creating opportunities for participation at every opportunity."

"Through our Family First model, whole family wellbeing is improved and promoted by enabling families to get the right support early and effectively."

Councillor Stephen Ferry, South Ayrshire Council's Portfolio Holder for Education said: "This plan is a testament to our unwavering commitment to the well-being and development of every child and young person in South Ayrshire.

"We want to create an environment where every individual can thrive and reach their full potential, and our dedicated teams across the Council will work collaboratively with our community planning partners to help build a brighter future filled with opportunities for our young people."
