Programme Details, Aims and Objectives:
Introduces the legal system RIDDOR (Reporting of injuries, disease and dangerous occurrences and regulations 1995) and IRC requirements and the principles of accident prevention and the causes of accidents. Outlines the difference between immediate and root causes of accidents and provides an appreciation of how human error can lead to incidents.
Aimed at: Everyone who has responsibility for investigating accidents and incidents within the workplace.
Outcome: Able to investigate events that led, or may have led, to injury. Determine the root cause of accidents and use a variety of NHS approved tools and techniques to identify the root cause of accidents.
