Head of Community Health and Care Services appointed for South Ayrshire

Stewart Marshall - Head of Community Health and Care

South Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) are delighted to announce the appointment of Stewart Marshall as Head of Community Health and Care Services.

Stewart was selected as the successful candidate following an intensive assessment centre and panel interview process.

Stewart has been the Interim Head of Community Health and Care Services following the departure of Billy McClean in July this year, stepping up from his substantive role as Senior Manager for Localities in Maybole and Girvan.

Stewart brings with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise from his extensive career in the health and care sector. Originally trained as a Mental Health Nurse, Stewart has gained experience over the years in other specialities including Senior Nurse in Mental Health and Learning Disabilities services and as an Alcohol and Drug Partnership Coordinator to name a few within his career in both Ayrshire and Lanarkshire.

Professor Gordon James, Chief Executive - NHS Ayrshire & Arran, adds: "On behalf of NHS Ayrshire & Arran, I'd like to congratulate Stewart on his appointment. His extensive experience and commitment to making meaningful change mean he is well-suited for this role. I look forward to working with Stewart to strengthen our services and support the wellbeing of our communities."

South Ayrshire Council's Chief Executive, Cleland Sneddon, said: "I'm pleased to welcome Stewart into the permanent role of Head of Community Health and Care Services. Stewart is an extremely capable and compassionate member of our team. He has worked hard to empower both staff and communities to start well, live well and age well. I look forward to seeing him continue to flourish in this role."
