Joint Investigative Interviews (JII)
Joint Investigative Interviews are formal interviews conducted by trained police officers and social workers where there is a concern that a child is a victim of, or witness to, criminal conduct and where there is information to suggest that the child has been or is being abused or neglected or may be at risk of significant harm.
The need for a Joint Investigative Interview is discussed and considered within every Inter-agency Referral Discussion held between the core agencies (Police, Social Work and Health).
When the decision is made a Joint Investigative Interviews is required a referral will be made to the Ayshire SCIM Team who will organise and undertake the Joint Investigative Interview.
