Meet our Team
Please see below for a detailed outline of the core roles and responsibilities within our multidisciplinary team:
Community Mental Health Nurse (CPN)
A Community Mental Health Nurse often called a CPN supports individuals living with mental illness by providing care within the community. This means they may visit you at home, in local clinics, or other nearby settings. They can help manage medications and deliver person-centred interventions tailored to your specific needs. They also work closely with Health Care Assistants (HCAs), who provide additional support particularly in helping individuals engage more actively within their communities.
Mental Health Advance Nurse Practitioners (ANP)
An Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) is a highly trained and experienced healthcare professional who can assess your health, diagnose conditions, provide treatment, and refer you to a specialist if needed. You might meet an ANP at a local clinic or during a home visit. They work closely with Psychiatrists, Community Mental Health Nurses and Health Care Assistants (HCAs) to make sure your care is well-coordinated and tailored to your needs. Together with the wider Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), ANPs help ensure you receive seamless and supportive care throughout your journey.
Psychiatrists
Psychiatrists are doctors who specialise in mental illness. They can diagnose conditions, prescribe medication, and help plan your treatment. They also support people who are being treated under the Mental Health Act. You might see a psychiatrist in a clinic or hospital, and they often work with other professionals to make sure you get the right care.
Occupational therapy
Occupational therapy helps people live their lives as fully and independently as possible. It looks at both mental and physical health to support overall well-being. Occupational therapists give practical help so people can do the everyday activities that matter to them like getting dressed, cooking, working, or enjoying hobbies. These activities, called "occupations," give people purpose and help them feel more confident and in control of their lives.
Psychology team
The Psychology team supports people with moderate to severe mental health difficulties through specialist assessments and talking therapies. You may be offered one-to-one or group sessions using proven methods, delivered by trained professionals like psychologists, counsellors, or trainees. The team also helps guide other staff who use psychological approaches in their work.
