Palliative Care Training
Course Description
This introductory course offers health and social care staff an awareness of palliative care at a foundation level. Throughout the session participants will have the opportunity to engage in discussions, increase their knowledge and reflect on their current understanding of palliative care.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this session, you will be able to:
- Define palliative and holistic care with a focus on what matters to the person, their family, and carers.
- Outline the range of services, agencies and resources involved in providing palliative care.
- Consider what decline looks like with the use of tools.
- Give an awareness of the importance of future care planning.
- Understand the meaning of equality, diversity and inclusion within palliative care.
- Reflect on your own views about palliative care and the views of others.
- Describe why your wellbeing and that of others are important in palliative care.
