Staying Ahead of the Curve

The symptoms of frailty, are to some degree reversible, particularly in the early stages. There is also evidence to suggest that if tailored interventions are put in place, then this can improve wellbeing and independence from an individual's view point. The earlier there is support the more likely that individuals can maintained their independence for longer.

In South Ayrshire, the 'Stay Ahead of the Curve' team is based in localities and have built strong networks within their local community. The team are having conversations at a mild frailty stage to support individuals to put in place positive ageing strategies, based on what matters to them.

Individuals can self refer themselves into the service at any time, if you andwer yes to any of the following questions, you may benefit from a wellbeing conversation with one of our team:

  1. Do you feel unsteady on your feet?

  2. Have you had a fall in the last 12 months?

  3. Have you lost your appetite?

  4. Are you easily tired?

  5. Are you struggling with everyday tasks?

  6. Do you feel socially isolated?
