South Ayrshire Carers Centre

South Ayrshire Carers Centre offers specialist information, support, advocacy and advice to unpaid carers and family carers. It also provides opportunity for carers to meet each other through carer support groups or social activities and outings. This wide range of services gives carers the chance to relax, chat with other carers and get professional support and advice.

The services it offers include:

assistance to complete an Adult Carer Support Plan or Young Carer Statement
benefit support - help with benefit checks and supporting carers to complete forms
emotional support - here to listen without judging and sign post to professional help
advocacy - be your voice with other agencies
peer support - through groups and social activities you will have the opportunity to meet and chat with other carers
training - on a range of topics and issues including practical skills and emotional wellbeing
health and beauty therapies -relaxation therapies to help carers deal with every day stress
care talk - a fortnightly phone call to carers who cannot make it into the centre
outreach - activities based in the local community facilitated by a highly trained staff team.

Carers Reference Group

The Carers Reference Group helps carers play an active role in the work of South Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership.

The main aims of the Carers Reference Group is to:

Provide a forum for carers to receive (and share) information.
Shape services within South Ayrshire Carers Centre.
Assist the Partnership in collecting the views of a wide range of carers. Giving carers the opportunity to comment on strategies and statutory services for carers and the people they care for.

The Carers Reference Group meet on the second Thursday of every month from 10.30am - 12 noon at South Ayrshire Carers Centre, 43 Sandgate, Ayr, KA7 1DA.
