Equality and Diversity
The South Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership's (SA HSCP) Equality Outcomes Report is produced in compliance with the Equality Act 2010, the Equality Act (Specific Duties) (Scotland) Regulations 2012 and the Equality Act 2010 (Specific Duties) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2015 and 2016. This report looks to address the requirements of the Equality and Human Rights Commission for Scotland and sets out what the SA HSCP wants to achieve in respect of the nine protected characteristics. The nine protected characteristics as laid down in the Equality Act are:
- Age
- Disability (learning difficulties, mental health, physical and sensory)
- Gender re-assignment
- Marriage and Civil Partnership (restricted to elimination of unlawful discrimination in employment)
- Pregnancy and Maternity
- Race
- Religion of Belief (including Non Belief)
- Sex (formerly known as gender)
- Sexual Orientation
The South Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership is fully committed to the content of this report and will continue to have meaningful engagement throughout the term to ensure that this report remains current and relevant to the people of South Ayrshire.

SA HSCP Outcome and Action Plan
