This course will enable practitioners to meet the statutory requirements to fulfil the role of the Council Officer. Practitioners will gain a working knowledge of the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007, with a focus on the social work role in Adult Support and Protection.
This course will support practitioners to develop their knowledge and understanding of the application of the legislation as it applies to adults who may lack capacity and those who experience a mental disorder.
This course is delivered on a Pan Ayrshire basis.
Practitioners will build on existing knowledge of the roles of appropriate agencies and professionals within the framework of Adult Support and Protection and explore the assessment, management and reduction of risk, and the management of uncertainty in complex and dynamic situations.
Practitioners will be able to confidently take actions to ensure individuals are protected and safe from harm.
Who Should attend
This course is aimed at Social Workers with 12 months relevant post qualification experience who will undertake the role of Council Officer.
This course is delivered over a period of four days in venues across South, North and East Ayrshire.
