Adult Support and Protection Level 1

Description

This course provides an introduction to Adult Support and Protection and will explore the key themes in relation to supporting Adults at Risk of Harm. 

Practitioners will develop an understanding of the potential signs and types of harm, and their own responsibilities in relation to sharing and reporting concerns that an adult is at risk of harm.  This course will introduce the Adult Support & Protection (Scotland) Act 2007 and local operating procedures.

Learning Outcomes

  • Develop an understanding of the terms 'adult at risk' and 'harm'
  • Increased confidence in recognising the potential signs of harm
  • Understand the response to concerns that an adult is at risk of harm
  • Understand information sharing responsibilities
  • Recognise the principles of the ASP Act (2007)

Who should attend?

This course is aimed at all staff who require a basic understanding of Adult Support and Protection. 

Course Length

This training is a virtual half day course delivered via Microsoft Teams.
